Saturday...

was a good day.
we celebrated auntie's birthday

we ate really yummy birthday cake
(mint chip ice cream cake from 31 flavors)

and had a great dinner that included our choice of meat from the local meat market.
not in that order, although i think next time that might be an idea...
what do 'ya think auntie???

the hours prior to the festivities were spent quilting. my favorite thing...
my step mom and i have been working on cheri's seasons quilt. we had to put it aside since i had the baby and no time, but we are back at it.
here's the blocks that we have put together.
(note to self...get 'em stitched down before next month!!!)

and while we quilted, the little princess made her own 'quilt' with the wool felt.

hope you had a great day, too!!!

Sounds like a perfect day - celebration of life, good foods and quilting. Does it get any better than that?

Your blocks look great! I have my backgrounds all done for this quilt, but haven't gotten to the applique. Are you using all wool? I'd love to do that, but don't think I have enough variety around for that. Yours look amazing.

BTW, I think I forgot to thank you for your recipes the other day. I will definitely be trying those out.

Oh it looks so cool! I think my favorite is the ladies skating on the pond! I think that one reason I like her "To Grandma's House We go " quilt...those wool jackets are just too cute!
