YeeHaw!!!

Tonight is the father daughter dance at Masyns school. Reluctantly Shawn took her. Poor guy, he really HATES this kind of thing. But he REALLY loves his girls, so to the dance they go. It's a country western theme. 

Hollywood Glamour

was the theme of this year's father/daughter dance
masyn was beautiful and shawn was as handsome as ever!

shawn even danced {which is HUGE}
masyn was soooo happy!

Crazy Hair Day

crazy hair day fell on the same day that we were leaving for the desert.

so instead of doing something {crazy} we opted for a practical crazy...

lots of different braids, tied together here and there, tied with tulle and garnished with sweet smelling jasmine!

masyn enjoyed everyone commenting on how wonderful she smelled!

{Third} Grade

masyn started third grade today.
mrs silvester is her teacher.

she was sad to go back {so was i}
summer just went too fast.

dropping her off was harder than usual. we both got teary eyed as we said goodbye.
but at pickup she was all smiles.

looking forward to a great year and lots of time to get some w.i.l.l.i.n.g. {waiting in long lines} projects done!!!

Best Artist!

masyn is incredibly talented,
so i wasn't surprised when she recieved the "best artist in 2nd grade award"!!!

good job bug!
you are a star student and an incredibly creative little lady!

She's a Clogger, He's a Clogger...

well. not really.
masyn is the only clogger, BUT she did get her daddy to "dance" with her in the father/daughter dance and LET ME TELL YOU, that is HUGE!!! the man DOES NOT dance, especially with people watching.
we ALL got a big kick out of harrassing him.

chelsie was the make-up artista and she did a fabulous job!

Masyn's Very First School Project!

masyn was so excited to hae a school project just like the big kids. and being one of my most creative kids she knew exactly what she wanted. although we had to alter some things (like the "real bark" for the tree trunk) but we were able to incorporate her scripture and her fairy door.

thanks to auntie and the cricut, it wasn't too hard for her to put together. i think it turned out super great and she learned a lot about her family's history.

Long Hair. Don't Care...

we cut 10" off of masyn's hair to donate to a wigs for kids charity.
good thing it was after we decided to be pippy!

{masyn said, "it's been my dream to have really long hair, but it's not fair that i have hair and someone else doesn't so i'll cut it."} more often than not, she "gets it". proud of her!

Read Across America

masyn's school recently celebrated read across america day.
the kids dressed up as a book character and masyn, with the help of auntie, kenz, and karen, was pippy longstocking.



the sad thing is she didn't even know who pippy was until that day when we "got to know" pippy thanks to the internet.
i realized that my kids are missing out on all the "good" stuff we knew as kids. it's time to bring back the oldies but goodies...

i could go on a tangent here, but i'll refrain.
