after dinner we gathered in sheryl's game room for some party prizes and to share our quilts {we each brought one to share}. there were soooo many beautiful quilts. it's great to be among a "like minded" group.
after all the sharing, we were treated with mini bundt cakes from nothin' bundt cakes in temecula.

Part {four} - Dinner

a gracious, talented and happy hostess. that would be sheryl.
besides the beautiful atmosphere, the food was perfect! sheryl made everything so relaxing and enjoyable. i admired her calmness and ability to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

mom and i met many nice women. voola (not sure of the spelling) and the english gal, were an entertaining pair and we enjoyed the company. quilters are just a generally neat group.

the yardsticks were our party favors. they had numbers on the back that were for the raffle that took place after dinner and how is this for a great idea!

Part {three} - The Outdoors...

take a walk outside with us, the dog is there to greet you
and the warm, breezy air is the perfect backdrop for this country landscape.

the pictures say it better than i can...

i'll be back with more.

Part {two} - the home tour

come on along as we wander through the rooms in sheryl's home.
everything is PERFECT and just my style!
(click on the pictures to get a better look)

as you enter her front door, you will see her entry that is filled with warmth, i love the jan patek, quilt that hangs on the wall to the left. directly in front of you is the large star and one of my favorite wall hangings, "these things do please me well" both of these quilts, i've had on my "to-do" list for probably ten years now...
to the right, is her living room. everything perfectly arranged and extremely pleasing to the eye. that's her mom in the photo below.

as we wander along, we come to her dining room and kitchen.
so many great ideas!

the picture below is her family room, hallways, and gameroom.
i just wanted to stay!

the bedrooms and bathrooms were just as wonderful!
so many things to look at.
her master closet has the trio of mini quilts hanging in it! i loved the framed letters on each bedroom door and the use of quilts just makes me happy!
and honestly, who doesn't go crazy over laundry rooms!!!

hope you enjoyed her home as much as we did!

come back for a walk through the outdoors!

A room with {views}

what a treat!
i tagged along to a {birthday party} today and boy am i glad i did!
a lovely lady hosted it at her beautiful home and when i say beautiful, i mean beautiful!

she has just finished a sewing room remodel in the upstairs room of her {castle}
and everything including the views are amazing.

if you click on the collage you'll get a good look at the fun stuff she's done to make her sewing room unique.
i love the tree that holds the thread and the way she's labeled her baskets! if you look closely at the quilt rack, you'll notice that it holds quilts that need to be complete along with their binding all neatly waiting to be stitched on. i wish i could've gotten a better look at the grandmother's flower garden quilt and the lone star that are quietly sitting on the rail. beautiful!

and even more beautiful are the views from her room...

these are some of her gardens.

and the lake out back.

and when i said castle, i meant it. the house has been built to resemble that of a castle and they did a remarkable job. here's a few more photos.

this was the a side of the back yard. i wasn't able to photograph everything that i wanted to, it would've taken too long but it is all georgous and so is the gal that lives here.

thanks for letting me tag along and take photos, i loved it!!!

p.s. if you come home one day and a blue minivan is in your driveway, don't be alarmed, it's just me taking in the views!

A Special Treat

my friday night quilt class got a special treat the other night...
they got to tour jeni's home.
she's recently redone her kitchen (i LOVE it!)

her talent isn't confined to her home...
her gardens are equally impressive.

thanks, jeni, for letting everyone invade your home.
