The Children

I thought I should post pictures of the kids and explain their "titles". The Queen is truly the queen of our fine city. Up until this year she was just "Sissy", now, she officially is "The Queen". The Little Princess ( a title she has given herself) started calling my oldest son Bubba when she first started to talk, now it's been shortened to "Bub". My husband is a handy man, mechanic, can-do anything kind of man and the Little Princess calls him Bob the Builder. The baby has yet to be given a nickname, but is by far the happiest baby I've ever met.

The Queen & The Princess

Today was picture day for the girls recital. This is the first year they are in the same recital. It's fun to see them all dressed up and looking so beautiful. The little Princess was very excited to wear makeup and get all dressed up like her "sissy". I enjoyed having the opportunity to take a ton of pictures with great back drops. I think the other parents thought I was a little crazy. Oh well...I got some great photos.

Forget the Wrapping Paper!

i think christmas did me in...since then, i haven't wanted to use wrapping paper at all (not to mention that my little princess has destroyed all of it trying to wrap up her rocks as gifts). i have been on the hunt to find ways to wrap a gift so that the package is part of the gift and, of course, cute. this week i was inspired (doesn't happen a lot lately) to "wrap" my gifts in a fun and unexpected package. i hope you like it.

Don't Look Back

It's been 4 days now since our baby bird flew into the tree. We saw him Wednesday with another baby about the same size and the momma bird. The experience will be one that none of us will forget and the lesson we learned is one of love and acceptance. I'm glad everything worked out for this little guy.

Don't Fly Away Baby Bird

What an experience this has been. Poor Gavin and I have been on a dramatic roller coaster with this baby bird. Sunday evening we heard horrible noises coming from the Blue Jays next door. Our sweet baby bird had flown into the neighbors yard where 2 labs were having a fun time throwing it in the air and playing with it. It was a horrible thing to watch as Gavin ran next door to help it. I thought for sure it was dead, but to our amazement it wasn't hurt at all. Gavin and I recovered from our emotions and mommy & baby are happy. We check on it every 15 minutes or so and put it in his box when we are gone. We are not quite sure what each day will hold, we are looking forward to the day when he can really take flight and not get hurt by our neighbors furry friends.

Baby Blue Jay

Last week our wonderful Lab, Remington, killed our Blue Jays baby. A friend, coincidentally, was nursing a baby Blue Jay that had fallen from its nest and thought maybe my mommy bird would take in her baby bird. I didn't think a bird would care for an other's baby, especially since it had a humans scent. I was wrong. The first time the mommy fed the baby, I cried, what an amazing experience this has been for us. Thanks Phyllis.

Sweet Baby Boy

Our sweet baby boy is now 2 months. He is such a happy boy. Nothing brings love into a family like a baby. What a blessing children are.
