A Green & Blue First Birthday

turned out great.

his actual birthday is this week and i really can't believe he's almost one.
i think, in some way, i'm in denial. it just went too fast.
i was grateful for my sister who helped me pull it off. i just couldn't get my act together for this party and i was feeling guilty for not having the 'umph' needed to plan a party like i normally do. now that i'm able to sit back and reflect, i realize that i was putting it off because i just don't want him to grow up so fast. i know, i know...it's good that they grow up, i just wish it didn't have to be a lightning speed!
well enough of that...

here's a few photos taken of the party.
cupcakes
pretzel favors (a huge thank you to my sister for making these, everyone loves them!!!)

'goody buckets' (the airhead whistle pops were a huge hit...target dollar bin is the best!!!)

table centerpieces...i had plans of putting pictures on stakes in the buckets, but didn't get to it.

here's some of my favorite photos taken from the party.

sissy & the happiest baby...he was (as usual) cracking us up. i need to video him.

the 'men' cracking themselves up...i didn't ask...i don't want to know.

nana & oma...oma wouldn't leave the kitchen window until nana got there. funny...

a great picture of opa

the little princess got a BIG kick out of the fact that we gave the happiest baby his own cupcake to devour. i realized that she has not witnessed this tradition before. she wouldn't leave his side.

it was a nice afternoon.

thank you suz and brent for all your help!!! mom, inka and janice thanks for helping with the food. i love all of you and am so thankful to have family so close and so involved.

love, Julie

Julie, It looks as though you had a gorgeous family birthday for your wee man. Yes they do grow up so quickly don't they but think of the wonderful experiences ahead of you.

What a cute party and the pictures were great. I do like the picture of the little guy eating his own cupcake. I will agree that Trey's first birthday party was the hardest. I think I over planned it and was sad it came and went just like the first year. It just teaches us to cherish every moment because it won't be like this for long. Have a great Sunday!

i love that you have a nana and oma. that's supposed to be the names of my mom and hubby's mom, but instead they've turned to nanny and moomie. my little boy turns 2 next week, and his party is on sunday! I got some great ideas, thanks.
