A Quilters Daybook

A Quilter's Daybook for April 2, 2009

for today, April 2nd, 2009 ...

Outside My Sewing Room Window...the clouds have swallowed the sun and the trees are dancing. one of my very favorite things that i don't think i've ever verbally shared with anyone but the little princess is the sound of the trees dancing in the wind. it's very calming.

i am thinking about...whether or not i should embroider flowers or eggs on the easter runner that i'm doing. i've already put 'merry easter' on it, and i'm not sure that i love it...
I am thankful for...a loving Heavenly Father who hears our prayers and knows exactly what we need. i am also thankful for the people in my life that he uses as vessels.
One of my Favorite things...is this easter pillow my mom made me several years ago. she's a quilter also. i love that we are able to share our love for fabric and all things quilty together.

I am working on...this easter runner. like i said, i'm not sure that i love the embroidery...hmmm...what to do, what to do. flowers, eggs, nothing???

I am looking forward to...spending time tending to out neglected backyard this weekend.
On the Longarm is...my step-mom's quilt. i love it...i also finished (finally) bob's cousin's quilt that i started yesterday. it was a custom job and it took forever but the outcome is worth it...(when i say 'finally', it's because i've had it for sooo long, it's embarrassing...ReaLLy!)

A tip from the sewing room...this tip comes from sherri at a quiting life (if you haven't checked out her blog, you should...she shares a ton of great quilting ideas!). use this tape on the bottom of your rulers to keep them from slipping. target carries it.

I thought I'd share... this book from that patchwork place. i love seeing what others do with their quilts. it's a 'tad' outdated but i am always inspired when looking through it.

hope your day was wonderful!!!

I just love your Quilters Day book and I adore that Easter Quilt done by your mom! How sweet. I think your Easter runner is going to be so beautiful. I covet it, I truly do. I know . . . it's a sin.

I love you. Most important is that you share all your special gifts you have been so blessed with with all of us. And so freely! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God for my Daughters and all the joy they have given me.
See you at class tonight.
love you mom

Glad you finished that quilt 'finally' and then shared it with us. I LOVE it! Do you remember where you found the pattern?

I totally agree for your thankful thing! I am so thankful that the Heavenly knows what I need, is always there to listen and is always willing to forgive!
I also love your quilts today, I really like the last one that looks like a garden, what detail. You are so talented.
I hope you have a blessed Friday!
