i have always preached the scant seam allowance in my classes.
i find that it makes a big difference, especially when piecing more difficult blocks.

Amys scant 1/4 inch visuals are fantastic. I've been using this tip for many moons - can't remember where I first heard it. But I testify that it works and your piecing is sooooo much more accurate. My Berninia accepts this step well and I do use my quarter inch foot with the built-in guide.
