A Quilter's Daybook

A Quilter's Daybook for May 7th, 2009

for today, May 7th, 2009 ...
Outside My Sewing Room Window...i can hear the cry of what sounds like a lot of large birds. i went out to see what was going on and to my delight, there were 4 baby hawks learning to fly. it was a beautiful sight.
I am thinking about...the many projects that quietly and patiently wait for me to address them. this week has been a tad hectic with bob out of town. trying to teach my oldest to drive a stick shift has proved better than expected, but trying to get my clients quilts done have posed quite the challenge. it's all a balance, the good and the bad. but when all is quiet and the day has come to end the good far outways the bad and for that i am thankful!
I am working on...creating a pattern for this halloween fabric by teresa kogut. i'm not usually one for panels, but halloween fabric is one of my favorites and i just couldn't resist the witches dancing under the trees. if you haven't already, click here to see the fabric line coming soon to a quilt shop near you...

One of my Favorite things...is this book series by need'l love. btw, if you need a little crafty inspiration, go check out their website! it's full of all things crafty!

On the Longarm is... this beauty!

A tip from the sewing room... when using the big 24" ruler, try putting a weighted tape dispenser towards the top so it won't slide as you cut.
I thought I'd share... this box i made a while ago for a friends birthday. i am drawing a blank on what magazine featured the original idea. maybe my sister can help me out with this one??? (suz, will you leave a comment with the name of the magazine? thanks...)
anyways it was a fun and easy project and my friend loved it.

hope you have a great day!!!
