A May Day Tradition

started today! (thanks julia)
the little princess & i shared the spirit of 'may day' with our neighbors.

(i'm loving these small bunches of daffodils from trader joes)

she was SO excited to 'ding, dong, ditch' the unsuspecting reciever.

when we were finished and back home, two of the neighbors came by and asked if we were the ones who left the beautiful flowers. with pure joy, she exclaimed "yes, it was me!" (SO CUTE) one of the neighbors brought us flowers and a sweet story of how he and his wife were just rear-ended and really needed the lift and smiles. that's what it's all about.

i love when we are able to teach lessons through simple acts. the simplest things bring so much joy...

again, happy may day!!!

Julie that is a truly beautiful thing to do and what a lovely lesson about being kind to your fellow man for your daughter. Small , old or new traditions leave HUGE footprints on the hearts.

We used to do this when I was a girl. We would make little paper holders for the posies and then hang them on the neighbours door knobs. It was great fun!

Julie--what an unforgettable experience for your daughter. Isn't she just precious! When my kids were younger their favorite family home evening activity is when we played the "phantom" and would leave treats on friends porches with the ding, dong, ditch method. They loved that and talk about to this day! Thanks for sharing!

That's so much fun! I remember doing that when I was younger. I was telling my kids about it and the girls thought it sounded like so much fun.
