i need to make a sewing machine cover.
i've been searching the web for some ideas. aren't these cute...

i found this picture here. i love the fabric choices!

and this one was cute i like the idea of the applique

of course martha always has great ideas. this one is from an old magazine, but i think i want the whole thing covered.

this is definetly a favorite! i LOVE pam garrison's work. click here for a free download of the embroidery pattern.

in the end, i decided that i would follow this tutorial and go with a simple cover like these...

EXCUSE me...you are actually going to sew something other than a quilt or parts of a quilty thingy?

Yee gads...just measure the height, width, base, sides and top add a seam allowance and hem allowance to your measurements...cut the pieces, one could make blocks, etc. sew all the pieces and hem. Voila, a sewn bag to put up-side down on your machine. What a chore isn't it!

I just love them all Julie, but I am partial to the applique one and the one done with teatowels. There sure are some creative people out there!

Moda bake shop has some cute ones with jelly rolls strips. Free patterns are the best.

What adorable ways to cover and protect your sewing machine. I liked each picture shown and would love to learn how to create my own cover. I look forward to seeing what you decide for yourself. :o)
Have a wonderful day.
Sincerely ~ Trish

Thank you very much for sharing!

Your blue polka dotties and ric rac look just great.
