Hip Hip Hooray!!!

i can upload pictures from picasa again!!!
and the summer fun is coming to an end, hopefully the heat will too!

with summer vacation coming to a close and school starting,
we attempted to get a few more things crossed off our list of
{fun things to do}

i {THOUGHT} playing in the sprinklers would be a fun outdoor activity
but BOY WAS I WRONG!!!

masyn was a {PILL} and rose wanted NOTHING
to do with cold water hitting her hot body!
nolan {as usual} was happy either way.
no matter the outcome, they did it and i crossed it off our list.


after that activity was a bust i had to find something to cure the summer blues...
so we invited a friend over and had a backwards day.

we had dinner for breakfast, we wore our clothes backwards {yes, even i did}
we {including gavin & mikaela} went to ihop for dinner and i did explain to the hostess, who i knew, that we were celebrating backwards day. i had to explain why my earrings and necklace were backwards.

after dinner, we went and fed the ducks...and the big, scary geese that came running after us!

can you see the top left picture...the clothes are backwards.

that night the kids watched a movie and slept backwards in their beds!

it was a successful backwards kind of day!

Something is Broken...

for those of you who visit and wonder if i have just given up on my blog, i want you to know that i haven't.

i can not upload my photos from picasa and apparently i'm not the only one. if someone has found a solution to this problem, will you let me know. i have so many things to share with you!

I did it!

i took the kids to the beach!
we spent an afternoon with 500 other people enjoying the cooler weather!
i took the pics on my phone, so they are what they are.
cute is cute no matter what camera you use!

 

 

 

 

 

 

{i'm not going to lie...this freaks me out! like nails on a chalkboard}

but they love it so i need to get over it.
i did bring my 5 gallon bucket full of water and bathed them in it before they got in my car.
between the baby powder and the bucket of water, i think i might be okay!

Aloha & Mahola

macy, hannah, nana & pa went to hawaii in july.
she absolutely LOVED it and has decided that she will one day live in a blue cottage right on the beach in hawaii. grandma is going to live with her but macy warned..."there will be A LOT of sweeping, because we are going to live RIGHT on the beach, grandma". cute!


the first night they had dinner at keoni's
(my niece's name is keoni, so it's tradition that they always go there the first night in hawaii)
their room was on the 21st floor which made nana's stomach turn. it took me a while to post this mostly because all of masyn's pictures were exactly what you see her doing in the picture below. taking pictures of flowers and greenery and chickens! shawn and i laughed!


they were so fortunate to do soooo much!
so much that i can't possibly remember everything, so i tried to capture a picture of everything.

she was great. the girls got along and all was well.
thurs evening rolled around and we got the first "homesick" message.
by saturday she wanted to come home but with only two days left, she hung in there and was a real trooper.

hiking diamond head and jumping off the cliff into the water were her two biggest worries.
we were so proud of her for doing it!

snorkling was her least favorite thing. she tried but opted out.

surfing, on the other hand, was a favorite.
i think i have a beach babe on my hands...

we were so happy to have her home. we all missed each other terribly.
and it can't go without saying how grateful we are to nana & pa for giving her the opportunity to share such a great experience with them!

Masyn's Room Re-do

while masyn was in hawaii we moved and redecorated masyn's room...

It was MADNESS!!!

i was so distracted by the madness at midnight
that i failed to share our project{s} that night.

this month the gals had a choice of quilts.
both are from cheri's wednesday's best quilt book


i'm thankful for holley & mardy for letting me borrow their quilts.
there was no way i was getting them done.

at one point the gals were getting tired.
turn on some music, fill up on salt water taffy and soda and the next thing you know,
michelle was dancing on the table!
{HYSTERICAL}

and show & tell was fabulous!

there's always fun to be had at quilt class!

A Patriotic Summer

i LOVE a good theme, even when it comes to a quilt class...
last night was our midnight madness class and let's just say it got a tad rowdy...
two words...
{TABLE} dancing!
i will wait for the photos to come in so i can show you, but in the mean time
