Wrapping up Christmas

i did a terrible job at taking pictures the entire day of christmas.
we spent the afternoon at nana's with shawns family
and then mom, poppy, and my sister's family came for christmas dinner.

wrapping paper fight, pajamas, fun, family, good food, and good times!

merry christmas to all
and to all a good night!

christmas 2012 is a wrap!
looking forward to next year!

Christmas Morning

this year i could've handed out harmonicas and called it good.
i saw a pin on pinterest that i ran with.
something to wear
something to read
something they want
and
something they need!
LOVED it...

a couple of "remember it" moments...
we gave gavin a book that was a book that was titled something like what every man should know. anyway we opened it and it had things like how to back up a trailer, how to survive this and that...blah blah
what we didn't notice was the ENTIRE chapter dedicated to beer and partying!
yikes! i even wrote in the front of it. no denying that we gave it to him! hahaha.

also, a cute moment...
the bottom right picture.
gavin sitting with evyn by the fire drying her freshly painted nails :)

without a trip to see santa!

{nolan dressed himself.
he picked his shirt and vest to match the scrap of green minkie
 he thought made a GREAT scarf! gotta LOVE him!}

Out of My Comfort Zone

i was asked to make a modern boys quilt
with the focus on the helicopter fabric.

i was super self-conscious,
but just went with it.

A Visit from {SANTA}

it all happened so fast!

one minute the door opened and there was a
"HO HO HO!"

then masyn played him a song on the piano
and they each took turns sitting on his lap.
{except rose, who clung tightly to my arm}

and then off he went, as quickly as he came.
wishing us a merry christmas and in a hurry to get back to the north pole...

and speaking of the north pole...
i thought i'd share these really cute and really yummy cupcakes!

i used betty crockers cherry chip mix and her fluffy white frosting.
sprinkled with clear sprinkles.
stick a peppermint stick in the center, pipe frosting on top
and use a red gobstopper to top it off.

you can go here, to download the tags,
they are really easy and well received!

{EleVeN} days to go!!!

Holiday Scents

and a great gift idea!
i found this on pinterest {of course}
it originated here {a great blog}
and packaged it up with martha stewarts gift boxes
that i found at michaels.
{i added the greenery and red bow}

simply package together
one whole orange, 2-3 cinnamon sticks halved, 1/2 cup cranberries,
{one} Tbls. cloves and sprinkles of nutmeg.

you might want to add a tag that instructs your friends to
quarter the orange & add a cup of water
after each use, put it into a jar and re-use each day.
it should last quite awhile.
mine has and i LOVE it!

make many, everyone deserves the smell of christmas!
