Summer '09
2. i spent a lot of time making lists and more lists, losing lists, and finally getting a notebook to contain my lists of all the things she would need in her new place. so far i haven't heard that we forgot anything so that's a good sign.
3. bob became a gardner, who knew! in addition to the fabulous square foot gardens he planted in the backyard (which was suppose to be bub's duty to god project...ahem!!!) he also planted pumpkin, watermelon, and several sunflowers in the front yard which have now turned into a forest! he's so proud!!! (rightfully so, honey!!! the pumpkins are huge, yes i looked at them today.)
4. speaking of bob and his garden, he is harvesting his first radishes! yum!
5. my step mom took my sister and i and our girls to go see wicked. if you haven't seen it, you must! if you can't, read the book. but let me warn you...the book is 'r' rated. the play is not, but there were a few parts in the book where i just skipped some paragraphs. but don't let that deter you, it is a FABULOUS story!!! you'll LOVE it!
and last but CERTAINLY not least!
6. the little princess learned to swim! finally. i've tried for the last couple summers to take swim lessons and have met with so much resistance that i gave in. this year she had no choice. we had a few moments before we got there, but once we did she was great and was swimming in two days! way to go bug!

A Very Big Day...
monday was full of firsts.
sissy moved into her apartment with the help and love of grandma (my mom)
we all drove to utah last week, but the little princess and i had to come home this past weekend because she and bub started school yesterday. i was so GRATEFUL to my mom for staying with sissy and helping her make this important move. it was harder than i can put into words to leave and not be there to help her settle in but i was comforted knowing that she was in good hands. i was happy to hear a smile in her voice and get a picture message of her new room.
and speaking of firsts...
the little princess started first grade. what a big day for her going to school for a full day.
when i picked her up, i expected a tired girl & i was prepared to give a pep talk if needed.
it wasn't needed. her smile was as big as it was when i dropped her off and she was full of excitement.
it was a good day for both of my girls and i'm looking forward to sharing with them all the blessings that this year has in store for them.

Just in the nick of time!
sissy is college bound. we (me, the little princess, my mom and sissy) leave for utah tomorrow at 4 am and i am happy to announce that i just washed and dried sissy's quilt for her new home with a pillow case to match. awhile ago she fell in love with paula prass's new fabric line, summer soiree. i have to admit, it's fabulous! given that sissy is turning twenty in a couple weeks, we thought it would be appropriate to make that quilt. i like it because it shows off the fabric so well and it was QUICK!
it's been a while since i've blogged. this pregnancy has taken it's toll on me, but i think the morning sickness is finally coming to an end. i haven't thrown up in a few days. that's a good sign! there are so many posts that need to be posted, but they'll have to wait. i'm in a mad dash to get the house cleaned and the laundry done before the days end.
i hope you all are having a great summer! i look forward to blogging again and catching up with all of you (if your still there...)
take care!
oh & ps...be sure to check out paula prass's blog (click on her name) you will LOVE what she did with the fabric! i need to make that cake!!!
