Today...

was a good day.
i organized the kids closet
with these buckets that i found at dollar tree



i had a friend make some vinyl for me
and WA-LA
a place for everything, and everything in its place!

and on another note...
two adorable dogs sleeping

love them!

Marmalade

i've been making marmalade!
and i LOVE it...



i've got {34} left to do
and then i can start puting the blocks together

months and months ago,
i quilted this quilt for maggie and fell
{in love}

she used urban cowgirl
and it's perfect.
i'm hoping for an almost perfect match!
and how cute is the back!

backs are like bathrooms...
i always love it when they are cute!

i'm so bad about blogging lately!
i thought about doing the quilters day journal again
but didn't pull it all together today.

masyn came home from school sick AGAIN!!!
seriously!

i started working on marmalade. LOVE it!!!
i'm using urban cowgirl. LOVE it, too!!!



went to target.
nolan bought this lego set with his easter money.

we made this.
he calls it something i can't understand and says it's his other brother

i decided that i needed a plastic template for marmalade so i stopped doing that
and pulled out my swoon fabrics.
i really should finish something!

 

 

three blocks down, six to go.

and to finish off a good day, a friend brought over
three vintage windsor chairs and a mustard table!
LOVE them!!! thanks leticia!!!

an older lady stopped by today looking for her toy poodle.
she was crying and i felt horrible.
all i could do is pray for her.
if you are the praying kind, please say a prayer for her.

Creative Minds at Play

i am always so impressed with the creativity that comes from children
when they are given the freedom to express themselves.

masyn especially.
i can create, but rarely do i create something all on my own.
masyn, on the other hand, is just like her dad.
she conjures up images in her head and has the pure talent to create it.

saturday, as i was leaving to run my errands, i was instructed asked to pick up
poster board for a beach...hmmm. okay.

as i was preparing for my class, the kids made their own beaches
with sand, blue tissue paper and odds & ends that they found here & there.

i truly believe that if you allow children to be on their own
and create their own games, etc. their mind and imagination will grow.

spending time with our children is wonderful.
spending all our time & theirs doing for them and entertaining them
doesn't spark their mind because they rely on ours.

give them the material and see what they can do.
they will surprise you!

Springtime...

is a time to lighten things up.
my house isn't bright & cheery
it's more primitive with a lot of red.

but jill helped me bring out some color with some of her quilts.
so i thought i'd share with you how
a few quilts can brighten your space.

 

 

 

Get Inspired...

i've been in a pretty bad funk.
for a long while now.

do you get into funks? does it last for months?
how do you get out of them?



with everything on the blogs and on pinterest,
you'd think that one could easily be inspired but it's not so.
i've tried pinterest, i've tried the blogs, i've hung out with carrie
and yet, i'm still blah...

so with the arrival of spring
i was desperate.
i needed to brighten my spirits and my home.
but it doens't just happen.

i had to call in reinforcement.
enter jill. and jill's house. and jill's talent.

it had been awhile sence i'd been there
but within a 20 minute drive

i found {INSPIRATION}
and there my spirit was brightened and my home found color

so the whole point to this post is simple.

when the seasons come around, and your spirit is down.
search for the things that brighten your life and inspire your mind.
it may not happen with a click on pinterest
or a stroll through the blogasphere

it takes time and patience
and sometimes it takes a friend
or a place or something simple.

but look for it.
search for it.
don't give up.

and when you find it, embrace it.

i am grateful for all the friends i have that inspire me
and share their talents.

i started this blog to inspire people
