{Last Minute} teacher gift

on monday, someone asked me what cute idea i had for a teacher gift...ahhh, i forgot all about a teacher gift!!!

i knew the teacher LOVES and collects everything i love lucy

so yesterday i found this image on line and printed it on june taylor's sew in fabric sheets (i like using the white ones, rather than the muslin colored)

i had some swell fabric in my stash and had to hand sew a ruffle because my bernina isn't a happy camper right now.

after a couple set backs and the help of a dear friend (thanks sharyn!)

mrs. blackwell received her i love lucy pillow. or as masyn keeps saying "la la lucy":)

A Bat!

WAS this cute little guy. (uh, not SO MUCH)



shawn armed hmself with his welding gloves and promptly woke the sleepy guy from his slumber.



he was NOT happy!!!
(he WAS very scary, mad and hissing)

shawn found him a new, temporary home on a far off tree.



and for a short time he peacefully "hung out".



about an hour later he had left.
now i need to make sure he and his batty friends don't come hang out on my porch again...

A Productive Day...

this is what i did today.



i'm making a sample for the shop. i love, love, love halloween.

i made a big mess



that entertained little miss evyn for quite a long time.



i also quilted this quilt for alex. she used the max & whiskers fabric. super cute.



i even managed to clean out the kids room, bathroom and the toy closet.
whoo hoo!
BUT i want you to know that nothing else got done. my house did not get picked up. i didn't answer phone calls, no makeup, the hair is in a pony tail and the kids had pancakes and eggs for dinner...



(and p.s. when your out of time, this is a GREAT substitute for home made pancakes. we LOVE them!)

She's a Clogger, He's a Clogger...

well. not really.
masyn is the only clogger, BUT she did get her daddy to "dance" with her in the father/daughter dance and LET ME TELL YOU, that is HUGE!!! the man DOES NOT dance, especially with people watching.
we ALL got a big kick out of harrassing him.

chelsie was the make-up artista and she did a fabulous job!

Memorial Weekend Fun!

chelsie surprised us and came home for the long weekend.
yeah!



we had BEAUTIFUL weather on friday and the kids spent the ENTIRE day by the pool. it's amazing how much fun the "big" kids had with the "little" kids toys. the dogs ran in circles around the pool, not wanting to get wet but concerned for their people! masyn is getting better and better at swimming and is slowly gaining confidence.

now. let me direct your attention to the picture in the lower left corner. that's right, you see chelsie reaching out to catch my beloved nolan...as he is thrust into the pool via big wheel, his trust is solely in his sissy who has promised she'll catch him.
now click on the picture and notice her eyes. yes. her eyes are CLOSED!
some help she is!

hehehe. actually, by sheer luck, she caught him and all was well!

p.s. the photo of shawn and the kids was taken on memorial day. he promised them that he'd go swimming after we got the garage clean. yeah!!! the garage (after 5 1/2 months) is CLEAN!!!

Boobies...

{i can't believe i'm going to post this, but it's WAYYYY too funny not to}

yesterday, as i was changing evyn's diaper and getting the children ready to leave, nolan and gavin walk in...

nolan says {out of NO-WHERE}

"i'm proud of you mommy"

i reply, with an "ahhh, why?"

he firmly states. "because, you got boobies!"

WHAT THE HECK!

gavin starts busting up!

i start laughing.

nolan can't figure out what all the commotion is about.

he smiles. he's SO proud...

now.

two things.

obviously this is a NO PICTURE post. which is unheard of.

and most importantly, does anyone else have a three year old that hasn't gotten over the boobie thing. for crying out loud i haven't nursed him since he was 15 months old.

Getting Things Done...

i finished my goose in the pond blocks. yeah!



super quick and easy. especially if you use triangle paper.
LOVE it!!!

i also finished up evyn's pillow with the help of margi's ruffler.
i REALLY LOVE that thing.
