A Wonderful Thanksgiving!

we spent THE BEST thanksgiving weekend, with the riddles, in the desert!

we played, laughed,

broke things, rode things, and did donuts!

but the best part, was thanksgiving.
craig & karen deep fried their turkey, while shawn bbq'd his. both were delicious.
we celebrated not only with an amazing feast, but also with a reflection of gratefulness around the campfire.

the weather was beautiful, the company was superb and everyone had a chance to relax and do a little of what makes them happy.

me, i finished a couple quilty things.
it was a great weekend with great friends!

W.I.L.ling 2010-2011

once school started up again, i decided that i could get a lot done while sitting in my car, waiting in lines for kids. i've titled them {W.I.L.} which stands for working in lines.
i'm gettin' ALOT done working in lines!!!

my first task was to square up ALL {480} of the 1/2 sq. triangles that made up masyn's basket quilt. (did i show you that?, hmmm) that took FOREVER!

after those were done, i finished this project. (looking at it, i notice that my snowman doesn't have his eyes...poor guy, i've gotta fix him!)

as well as many others. i will show you the rest as soon as i take the pictures ;)

Finding Christmas...

i'm having a hard time getting into the christmas {spirit} and it's bothering me...
i am happy to have come across this blog post by vicki at the city cradle.
not only are her pictures beautiful, but the message is even better.

she filled these mason jars up with christmas goodies and let the waves wash them away.
what a fantastic idea...letting someone find christmas washed up on shore.

i would love to find her jar on a nearby beach, wouldn't you.
sounds like a PERFECT family home evening and a perfect way to find that christmas spirit that seems to be missing.

Masyn & Paige

what a great day we had friday!
thanks to daddy, masyn, paige & i got to go to the park by ourselves!
the girls hula hooped, jumped rope, attempted handball, faced their fears on the fireman's pole and played in the sand.
i enjoyed our time and was thankful to have time just with her.
this is one of my favorite photos of her.
i just love it. you can see the joy in her eyes.

cute, cute girls!

Spread crust in pie plate, poke the bottom of the crust and cook for a few minutes. Add chicken mixture and cover with top crust. Flute edges and cut away excess dough.
